The chemical structure of Carbamazepine differs from other anticonvulsants. This is the only Tricyclic Anticonvulsant in use. The tricyclic structure of Carbamazepine gives a Broad Spectrum Activity and Psychotropic effects. It controls epileptic seizures and improves behaviour and mood of the patient. It is also used for tri-geminal neuralgia.
